Frequently asked questions

As you research photographers for your upcoming family session or elopement, you will undoubtedly gather a list of questions to answer to decide whom to hire and who will best fit your needs. If you’re starting your research, I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions that may help you learn more about my professional photography experience, style, and process! Do you have a question that isn’t listed here? Reach out to me!

How long have I been a photographer?

I have been interested in photography since a young age; ever since I took my first photograph, I have been told I had an eye. I discovered that I loved being behind the lens and documenting the pure joy on the faces of family and friends and the small moments. I have been photographing friends and family for years.

Over the years, my love for photography has grown into a full-time business. My goal as your photographer is to document the true beauty of real-life moments (whether big or small), walk you through the process, and leave your family with beautiful heirloom art for your home.

Do you give digital files or RAW unedited files?

I am a photographer, and my clients value heirloom artwork for their homes. I do not give digital or RAW files in any way, shape, or form, and they are not available for purchase. All digital files will be kept safe with me for years to come.

How do you describe your photography style?

I like to describe my style as authentic and candid, with gentle guidance and direction for portraits and group photos. My goal is to capture the true moments of the session and I want you to be able to enjoy it without being bombarded by a camera in your face. It is important to me to be able to capture your moments without taking anything away from your experience. I don’t rely too much on posing, but I do provide gentle guidance and direction to get the best photos.

What services do I offer?

I offer photography services for Michigan families, individuals, couples, and elopement services. All sessions are on-location of your choice, and my work is created by natural outdoor lighting rather than an indoor studio. Contact me if you are outside Michigan, and we will work something out!

Why is photography an investment? Can I get a discount?

When you invest in a photographer, you are investing in much more than the photographs they take. You are investing in their time and expertise. I value the work I do; I will not give a discount.

What if there is inclement weather during our scheduled session? What if I need to reschedule?

The best way to combat this is to be prepared! Have a backup location for your session, provide umbrellas, if nothing else, and roll with the punches! Umbrellas can make for fun photos, even if it is drizzly outside. If you need to reschedule, reach out to me and we will work something out. I get it life happens!
